The wait is over, it's time to get this project moving! There has been so much behind-the-scenes work over the last year to get us to this point:
Hired and architect and finalized our custom home plan
Successfully navigated the process and received a special permit for the in-law unit
Completed the site survey work
Hired a builder
Solidified a budget and allowances
Confirmed sewer and water availability
Full site tree work
Secured a construction loan
and... Received our town building permit!

The stage is set and the property becomes more beautiful by the day. Here's a shot from the road and the longstanding beech trees that will frame the house in the background. Note from Justin: these two are classic examples of New England field trees - growing to great heights and widths unrestricted by competition.
We're excited to see some real progress on the property. We are fortunate enough to live on abutting land and can take a stroll over to see how things are developing at our leisure. To-date, transition has come in the form of stage setting tree work and some spectacular invasive species clearing (mostly Bittersweet) by our neighboring friends - opening up views for days. We look forward to sharing more photos and videos of the site as well as the build plans soon.

We erected a mailbox within days of closing on the property. Here's our crew working on this milestone project (in our PJ's).
We're anticipating the ups and downs that come with construction and additional challenges associated with current supply chain issues. Here we are excited to see a ledge free test hole. Days later it was filled with 6 feet of water... so we're dealing with that at the moment.
We'll do our best to share note-worthy developments here and on Instagram. A shout out to our amazing neighbors, friends, and family who have been cheering us on - it takes a village!
